The Halcyon of Solitude…

Like fireworks across a twinkling astral sky,

Chattering and vibrant, never lay still, I,

Times changed, proffering days in multitude,

Of quiscence, glum and foisted solitude!

Bondaged by the unfeeling walls of four,

Emptiness wiping out the last trace of a golden yore,

The state of latence took over by the day,

To the tunes of boredom, my head’s sway!

Pitying my piteous plight, the sun withdrew,

Blossoms wilted, birds muted, my agony brew,

With the devil for company, enduring insanity,

Vanquished my being, ceding me on to vanity…

Pray, no foe be bestowed with my newfound,

The halcyon of solitude, sweet may sound!!!

The Oasis

Crabs dropping into the water in fright,

Crickets making music out of sight,

Gravel crunching beneath my feet,

Oh what meloncholy, the chirp and tweet,

Thunder rumbling not far away,

Oozing with inspiration, looking out at the bay,

Ensconced gators giving you the qualm,

Even a scurrying squirrel increases the alarm,

Hiding and seeking in the clouds and trees,

The raging sun melts in the damp breeze,

Pins and flowers alternate their kiss,

Every droplet, a gratifying heavenly bliss,

This oasis hidden deep in the wet woods,

A retreat to the souls buried behind dark hoods!!!
